Signum says goodbye to openHAB
In 2023, we introduced Home Assistant as the new software for our Signum IoT gateways, allowing remote control of your Velbus installation.
Today, 83% of online Velbus users already use this powerful interface for remote control, energy management, and integration with other smart systems.
Because safety and reliability are top priorities at Velbus, we will gradually end cloud support for Signum devices still running on openHAB starting in April.
Have you already switched to Home Assistant? Then no action is needed. Still using openHAB? Starting this week, you’ll see a message in your Signum application prompting you to either migrate to Home Assistant or continue using your current interface locally only. Not sure which system you’re using? Just follow our tips in the FAQ.
Thanks to Velbus’ philosophy of backward compatibility, even first-generation Signums can be upgraded to the new software. This keeps your installation up-to-date and ensures the reliable performance you expect from Velbus.
